In July of 2015, Jim, Lisa, and Rebecca Gagnon became the new owners of Mainely Custard and Classic Cookout. For over a decade, Deb and Roger Bowdoin have put their heart and soul into growing this Freeport business into the success it is today. Rebecca has enjoyed working at Mainely Custard since she was 14 years old and dreamed of someday owning her own shop.
After graduating from college with her accounting degree and hearing that Deb and Roger were thinking of retiring, Rebecca realized that her dream could come true and now she, along with her parents, are the proud new owners of this successful business.
Here is a bit about the Gagnons: Jim graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in electrical engineering and works as a quality manager for a large semiconductor manufacturer in South Portland. He's passionate about his pizza-making hobby and will introduce it a as new menu item for the cookout this coming spring. Lisa graduated from Mercy school of nursing and is currently working as an operating room nurse at Mercy Hospital. Her passion is frozen custard and you'll find her often helping out at the shop. Rebecca has worked for Deb for 8+ years at Mainely custard and familiarized herself with all aspects of the business. Her warm smile and friendly demeanor (not to mention her understanding of finances, after graduating from college with a degree in accounting) makes her a perfect fit to manage the day to day business. In the off season, she works for a local accounting and investment firm - and is really appreciated around tax season! The Gagnon family is committed to maintaining the highest level of fresh, quality ingredients in everything they make and as always, the fast, warm, and friendly service that their customers have come to know and expect, bringing smiles to all who visit!
